I think the best way we can prepare shrimp is exotic. I love the combination of sweet and sour fruits and shrimp. This time I tried them with sweet and juicy oranges and I served them with vegetables and rice.

  • 400 g frozen shrimp,
  • 2 oranges,
  • 1 red bell pepper,
  • 1 onion,
  • 3 cloves of garlic,
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder,
  • a white pepper powder,
  • a pinch of salt,
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce,
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet and sour sauce,
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar,
  • olive oil
  • frozen vegetable mix: beans, potatoes, zucchini, peas, corn, carrots, mushrooms, rice (a combination made by me between 2 varieties of vegetable mix).

Servings: 2

Preparation time: less than 60 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Shrimp with oranges:

I thawed the shrimp in cold water and let it drain.

I cut the peppers and onions and put them in the pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. I sautéed them for a few minutes then I put the finely chopped garlic.

I left it for another 2-3 minutes, then I added the shrimp and spices. I added vinegar and sauces.

I peeled the oranges and chopped them into cubes. I put them over the shrimp with all the juice that flowed from them.

I let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

I prepared the vegetable mixes in a large wok over high heat together with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and a pinch of salt.

I served shrimp with orange sauce and vegetables.

Mardaru Petrica / Alexandru from MasterChef proposes an easy recipe to make, which must be enjoyed with a dry white wine or a glass of prosecco.

Put the pot of boiling water with a cube of vegetable concentrate. Meanwhile, wash the shrimp a little and boil them, but not more than a minute.

Salad with shrimp, avocado, oranges

The most difficult process is the shelling of shrimp. which I first inverted in a pan in which I put the olive oil, about 1 minute, 1 minute and a half. Then I peeled them, keeping the tail for its decorative effect.

Avocado salad with oranges and shrimp

Did you call shrimp? Coincidentally, yesterday's menu started with this salad. I thought that the victims who came to visit suffered too much fighting with traditional Romanian heavy foods so I chose something lighter for a start.

Ingredients for 5 servings:
10 shrimps
1 piece of 1cm ginger
2 hands of arugula
1 orange
1 lemon
1 avocado
a bunch of green onions
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 fennel

Wash the shrimp and dry them with a paper towel. Cut the ginger into small pieces. Heat a little olive oil in a pan and fry the shrimp together with the ginger. Shrimp should not be fried much, a few minutes on each side until golden. Remove the shrimp from the pan and keep warm.

Prepare the dressing with lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.

Cut the julienne fennel. Chop the green onion. Peel an orange and cut it into slices. In this process, any traces of white skin should be removed as much as possible. Peel an avocado, grate it and slice it. In a bowl, mix all the vegetables with the dressing.

Be very careful, they do not boil more, because they become hard, like a rubber. It is best to taste and realize immediately. If you have escaped cooking more, pass them through a stream of cold water as soon as possible, because this suddenly stops the cooking process. Drain and cool in a sieve.

Cut the tomato and avocado into suitable cubes, not too small, add the finely chopped hot pepper. Separately mix the tomato sauce, mayonnaise, yogurt, lemon juice to taste and brandy, add the mixture of tomatoes, salt and cooled shrimp.

Stir gently and refrigerate 20-30 minutes before serving.

Serve on a plate, plate or in cups, decorated with lemon slices, lettuce, tomatoes, chives (crow onion).

TRICK for a tasty spicy shrimp salad:

When serving, freshly grind a little pepper on top.

Some secrets: use homemade mayonnaise, fatty yogurt and good quality cognac. It can be made only with mayonnaise or only with yogurt. If you use diet yogurt, it will not have the same taste, and the appearance will be pea, watery and not creamy.
